A Day in the Life

Hi Everyone! So I have been a bad blogger friend, and have just been reading all kinds of blogs lately and not writing on my own. Sorry! I promise to be better :) Part of the reason I think is that we are just getting settled into our nice little routine, and I have been forgetting to take a lot of pictures.

We made it through a month of me being back and work and Matelyn at "school." Wahoo! Although, between ice days, sick days, and Mimi and Nanny visits, Matelyn has yet to make it through five full days of school in a row. I think this will be the week :)

So our typical day goes like this . . . I get up at five a.m. and am at my desk by 6:30. And yes, this sucks. I leave the house before my sweet girl wakes up (usually). Matt gets up and gets himself ready, then gets Mattie up about 7:30 and gets her fed and ready for school, then drops her off on the way to work. He is an awesome Daddy! A lot of Dads would not be excited to have to do all this on their own, but he does it and loves it. He doesn't even complain (too much) when he has to change his shirt twice in one morning :) Then we all go about our separate business until I get to leave work around 3 or 3:30 and go pick Matelyn up! The pay-off for those awfully early mornings. Sissy and I get to come home and play together for a couple hours before Daddy gets home. These are some pictures of our play time this afternoon. We were having a piano lesson, and knew our Mimi would be super excited.

Yes mom, I can play the piano. What's it to you?
I think she played "Twinkle Twinkle"

Sometimes we jam to our nursery rhymes while we wait for Dad to get home. This is Mattie dancing last week. Look how good she is standing up and jiving on her own! She is going to be walking before I know it. Aye yi yi.

She doesn't look that excited in this video, but she does love her rhymes!

After Matt gets home, we have dinner. We have started putting Matelyn in her high chair so that she will be ready to join the family for meals. She has been ravenously teething, so she was working on her blocks tonight for dinner. Poor thing.

At 7:30ish, we start our bedtime routine, which consists of bath, books, nurse and then night night. She has done really well with this, and she is almost always out by 8:00. And yes, she is still sleeping through the night for the most part! We had a little hiccup this weekend, because she was congested, but we are back on track. Praise the Lord for sleep!
