Excuse me, what did you say?

Sissy has taken two giant steps into toddlerhood this week. First of all, she has graduated at school from napping in a crib to napping on a nap mat. I wasn't sure how this was going to go, but her teachers say she is doing great two days in, and she has taken two hour naps both days!

Yesterday after I picked her up, we went for little walk and then were playing in the backyard. I said, Sissy we need to put your mower in the garage, it is getting cold and it is time to go in. I thought I heard a faint "no" in response, but she has never said no, so I thought maybe I misheard. I said, what did you say? And no response. Then we are inside getting dinner ready, and I said Sissy are you ready for milk, and she said NO, clear as a bell. Normally she would just shake her head no, and it sounds so weird to hear NO coming out of her mouth! I know it is totally fine for her to say no if I ask her a question. But later when I said, Mattie it is time for bath, and she laid down on the floor and said NO NO NO, that was a little different. Sniff Sniff.

So here is Little Miss No eating her sweet potatoes last night. She is really getting good at feeding herself and was enjoying her sweet potatoes quite a bit :)

So cute! I remember the days of Anna saying "no" and not really knowing what it meant. Now she's got the idea. Mattie is growing up so fast. What a precious girl!!

The word "NO" - doesn't it have 4 letters (ha, ha). It sounds like Mattie knows exactly what it means. Now the fun just begins :) She is growing up too fast.

Oh the word NO has become very common at our house now. Sometimes it's a cute "no" and other times it's screaming, throwing oursevles onto the floor "NO!" Welcome to toddlerhood!
