HOT HOT HOT

Well, summer is here and it is HOT HOT HOT! But we are having soooo much fun! It is going by way too fast for me.

We just wrapped up a FABULOUS two-week visit with Mimi, and I somehow got no pictures of her with the kids. But we did a bunch these last few weeks, so here is a quick highlight reel!

Mattie hosted her third annual lemonade stand to raise money for her work with the Little Stewpot Stewards, a local group of kiddo volunteers who raise money and prepare summer survival kits for the Dallas homeless. We had lots of friends and neighbors stop by and support her . . . it was like a front yard party :)  Mimi accompanied Mattie for her service at The Stewpot last Tuesday. The kids greet and distribute kits to the homeless clients who come in for breakfast, then assemble kits for the next week's crew.

We had a play day with the Mutschellers that included lunch, playing, swimming, dinner and more swimming. Sarah and I are still hoping our arranged marriage plan for these two works out.

While Mimi went to visit friends in Waco one weekend, our family met Paige and Kristin's families for a weekend on the lake. It was a blast. Seven kids, tons of food, fishing, jet skies, inner-tubing, swimming, movies . . . 

Mattie and Ben both did some fishing with no luck.

And Paige took the girls out for their first run on the jet ski.

And last week, I got old. HA! Celebrated my 36th birthday with my sweet nerd. My family made me feel so loved and special, and we enjoyed a yummy dinner at home prepared by Mimi. Can't beat that!

We also caught a movie one day . . .Ben and I saw Minions, and Mimi and Mattie saw Inside Out.

This has been the best summer for our pool yet! Both kids are swimming like little fish, and we have so many friends that go to the pool. We love to go up for long afternoon swims and have dinner and ice cream with friends! 

And Mattie looks like she is about 12 already. SIGH.
