Apparently my old age put me in a post-vacation blogging slump. But I'm back and determined to do better this week!
I had a fabulous birthday weekend and day! Mattie is still very into celebrating. . . when I woke up this morning, she was just dying with excitement. She ran over and brought all of my cards to me and helped me/opened them all for me right away. And she asked, "since it is your birthday, are you just so excited you don't know what to do???" Followed by, "since it is your birthday, I'm sure you want to spend lots of time with your little daughter, so I will help you make our pancakes."
Yup, these little loves are pretty precious!
My birthday celebration started early - with a Friday night girls dinner with lots of my fabulous friends! They know how to make a girl feel special, that is for sure!
Saturday we spent some time at the pool (where Mattie got a special face painting), then had a relaxing afternoon. Matt and I put the kids to bed early and got take out from our favorite Mexican place and watched some of our favorite shows. WE. ARE. WILD. AND. CRAZY! But it was perfect :)
Today we had church and lunch and naps and all the usual Sunday stuff. But the best part of the weekend was my "family pizza party" tonight. Ben seriously ate three pieces of pizza. And Mattie sang Happy Birthday at the top of her lungs and picked out a delicious cupcake for me. Ending the evening watching Tangled with my girl (and blogging). :)
