I'm sure everyone knows by now we had a little ice storm here in the big D! Totally crazy that is was 81 on Wednesday, and this ice blew in Thursday night. Mattie was THRILLED to have a "snow day" on Friday. I was excited too, but then we had to cancel lots of fun weekend plans - going to see the Nutcracker Friday night with friends and going to Waco Saturday to meet up with friends and have a kid free day/night while Mattie and Ben went to Georgetown. But, we have had a lot of fun and family time here at home!

We ventured outside for about ten minutes on Friday to check things out. But it was COLD! And Ben had to wear some of Mattie's gloves that were way too big!

Sissy and I have been busy crafting, making decorations for the Christmas party the Little Stewpot Stewards are going to sponsor for some of the Stewpot clients.

We have watched a lot of movies, listened to Christmas music, read lots of books and had lots of hot chocolate!

The only really big downside to this whole weekend - Friday evening we heard a load noise and discovered our big backyard shade tree is uprooted from the ground and partially fallen. It is partially resting on the roof, so it hasn't fallen all the way (yet). We had a tree service make it out yesterday and relieve the tree of some of its weight, but we can't have it taken down until the ice melts so they can get on the roof, and we also have to have the power line disconnected first . . . so in the meantime we are hoping it won't fall! We are sad to lose our backyard shade, but thankful the damage hasn't been worse.

The kids have been really good, but got a little stir crazy yesterday afternoon!

Silly faces!

I got some prized and rare snuggle time with my Benny Boo yesterday. . . .possibly the best part of the weekend!!!
