We are happily eating some of the "fruit/veggies of our labor" from our new garden - hooray! It has been a hope of mine for over a year that the kids will get into growing things and eating them :) Mattie has always loved veggies, so we are loving getting to pick things and eat them right off the plant. We got our first red tomato this weekend, and she picked it right off the plant and ate the whole thing in the backyard. I hear it was tasty!
We are majorly into the school countdown for her (three days) and the end of year activities have been fast and furious. Last Friday was her last Friday of kindergarten! What a beautiful girl. I had a parent/teacher conference today and got all of her end of year info. It is not lost on me how lucky we are to have a little girl who is naturally bright and is thriving in school. It is a joy to see how much she has learned and the progress from this first year!
Since it was our last solo Friday, I let Benny choose what we were going to do. He of course wanted to ride the trolley and go to the "chocolate milk store" (a.k.a Starbucks) and go to the park downtown.
