It seems like overnight Matelyn is now a BIG girl!!! It is so fun and a little bittersweet at the same time. She is reaching for the person she wants to hold her, letting us know (in no uncertain terms) if we aren't making her happy, and squealing and laughing if she is having a good time. I asked Matt to get a few shots of her before school today on her birthday. Here she is in her room . . . .

And trying to get the camera from Daddy. . . .

After school with me outside. Mama, watcha doing?

Enjoying a delicious teething biscuit.

About two weeks ago, I started giving Mattie little pieces of real food, not baby food, and she has loved it. This is a little clip (really little because our memory card is full) of her chowing down on banana. It is her favorite food. Dinner times have gotten a little more challenging, but she is loving to feed herself grated cheese, pieces of mashed fruit or veggies, and anything else she can get her hands on. You might can tell from this clip how messy dinner has also gotten!
And our biggest birthday treat was that Mattie started crawling today, literally, this morning. A week ago, I was thinking she wasn't ever going to crawl, and then over the last few days, she just started making major progress. She starting acting like she wanted to this weekend, and was getting up on all fours and rocking a lot. Then, overnight, she just takes off. She also has all of the sudden learned how to get from laying down to sitting up on her own. It is crazy - all of these skills just came at one time! But is is so fun - we are totally the nerdy proud parents, cheering on her every little move!
Matt got a very short little clip of her first moves this morning, since it really was her first actual crawl! You don't see much of it here (again, the memory card), but she is on the move officially.
P.S. Her nine months doctor's visit is next week, so I will have to report on her stats later.
