Potty Training Boot Camp

Well, I didn't want to do it, but potty training has gone much smoother than I thought it would! I am so proud of my Sissy. We spent a great deal of time in the bathroom over the last three days, but it has been worth it. (Thanks to Paige for the guidance and advice. I didn't do any research, I just did what Paige did.)

She is doing so well! We started Saturday morning with a little reluctance, but as soon as she started having success and getting her m&m's, it got easier :) At first, we were reading a lot as we went to the potty every ten minutes, to make sure if there was something ready to come out, it had time. Mama spent a good deal of time on the edge of the tub reading stories.

Now that she has gotten the hang of it, she is in and out pretty quickly. She will occasionally take a book or toy she is playing with to the potty with her (which is how I got to snap these pics!). We spent Day 3 today at home in pjs all day and I am so proud to report that she was accident free all day. We set the timer for usually about 25 minutes, but several times she let me know on her own when she was ready to go, including a successful notification of the need to go #2 tonight. Sorry if this is too much detail, but I am proud!

On Day 1, we let her wear just her big girl panties (no pants) all day since we were in the bathroom every ten minutes. Matt and I just died laughing all day about how cute she looked, not to mention grown up, with her big girl panties. And how she would start pulling them down on the way to the bathroom, running around with her cheeks out. The best was when she pulled them up herself, and she would have an entire cheek hanging out.

This is totally random, but Saturday Mattie kept putting balls from her ball popper toy under the entertainment center and insist that she use her broom and a flashlight to get them out herself. No assistance needed. She spent about twenty minutes one time, but she got it out all on her own. The funniest thing was watching her lay down on the floor in her panties with her hiney up in the air, peering with her flashlight!
