This is a bit of a delayed introduction because I have been sick - YUCK!
But, surprise surprise surprise . . . our family adopted a dog - Annie! Mattie LOVES animals and has been begging for a dog for some time now. I have always always always said we would never get a dog. But we met Annie through some neighbors who were fostering her, and I knew that she was just perfect for us.
Annie is a little over a year old, and is super sweet. Mattie is over the moon for her! Ben also loves her, but the feeling is not so mutual . . .I think because of Ben's overly enthusiastic hugs.
We also had a fun post-Christmas visit from Nanny and Pops, where just the grown ups went to the Cotton Bowl to cheer on Oklahoma Sate! Although the game didn't go in OSU's favor, we had a super fun time going to "Jerry World." And sometimes it is nice to be out without the kids :)
We finished up the break with an ice skating "redo" for Mattie, on real ice this time. She gave it a good go, seemed to enjoy it, and didn't even complain when she fell down.
Tuesday meant back to school and work for the whole family, and we survived :)
