Week in Review

How about a quick week in review?

Last Thursday morning was Muffins with Mom with this cute kindergartener! Thankfully, I happened to have switched my work at home day to Thursday for work reasons, and thankfully I got a text from a friend about Muffins with Mom at 7:25 on Thursday morning ;)  We had just enough time to dash to the car and enjoy a quick treat before the bell at 7:50!
Daddy went to Oklahoma last weekend to visit his Granny, and the kids and I basically spend the whole weekend outside. YAY! Friday after school, we had snacks at the lake and then took Annie to the dog park. I am not sure who loved it more, Mattie or Annie. Mattie made several new dog friends that she talked obsessively about for two days.
On Saturday, the kids literally started the day with playing outside and breakfast on the patio and they were barely inside at all the whole day. It was gorgeous!
And I was lucky enough to have a visit from my KRISTIN! We all went to Mattie's soccer game, and then Alex kept the kids while we went out and did a little shopping and had dinner.
Since Daddy was gone, Ben got to join Mattie and I for Brookshire. He is almost old enough to go. Mattie was very proud and brought him up to the front and introduced him to everyone. And then he sat like this for approximately two minutes of the lesson.
Monday morning was the 4th six weeks (how is this year going by so fast!?!?) Pride Rally at LHE. I love any chance to get to go in the school and see Sissy in her element. Following the awards ceremony, all of the kindergarteners and their teachers performed the Cupid Shuffle (It's a kind of modern electirc slide) and it was the highlight of my day!
The other big news is that Ben has discovered how to climb out of his crib. He has been very proud coming into the kitchen or my bed in the mornings telling us, "I ready to wake up." The last few nights he was also very proudly coming out of his room in the middle of the night multiple times. Wednesday morning at 4:15 am I heard him in his room and went to check . . . he was sitting in the rocker with his light on looking at books. So we are working on learning to stay in our beds. Why can't someone demand I stay in my bed for ten hours a night????
