Matelyn Kate, you are six years old today!
At breakfast this morning with the family, we sat around and told the story about your surprise arrival two weeks early on August 20, 2008. There is not much more you love than a good story . . . you asked at least thirty questions.
You still love to surprise us, and you are curious, purposeful, expressive and joyful.
You always know exactly what you want and who you are, and you don't change for anything. You are the only six year old I know that would want a veggie plate for her birthday lunch! (Yes, this is her for real birthday lunch by request.)
You love to put on shows, be the center of attention and be silly. Your Daddy, brother and I adore you! I am so happy that we are celebrating you at the beach this week before we send you off to first grade on Monday. You light up our lives little girl!
