Sweet Sister has had the time of her life at Pine Cove Base Camp this week at our church. Pine Cove is an overnight camp here in Texas, but they do a traveling "Base Camp" called Camp in the City, where they travel around to a different church every week and put on an almost full camp experience, Monday through Friday, 9-4 each day.
Sissy has seen the camp set up the past few years and has been SO stoked to go! We were a little nervous she would miss due to the pneumonia, but Monday morning she was ready to go!
She has never had more fun at any kind of activity, camp or experience. She comes home bubbling with excitement, talking her little head off, telling me every detail about the day.
The camp brings in climbing walls, big inflatables, trampolines, water slides . . .
The kids are in "cabins" with girls or boys their own age, so Mattie was with a group of eight girls, and they had the same counselor all week. They did a daily Bible study in their group, played games, had reflection time, had competitions . . . all kinds of fun stuff!

This week of Pine Cove was such a blessing for Mattie and our family. I got to see her shine with joy. At the end of the week celebration, the counselors talked a little bit about character qualities they saw in each camper. Mattie's counselor described her as expressive, enthusiastic and joyful. I think that sums her up pretty well!!!
