I'll fly away

Sissy got some butterfly wings as part of her dress-up Christmas present from Cousin Lilly. She was super excited to rock them after school today. She came running into the kitchen to tell me she was going to fly away.

She is really getting into Christmas this year and it is so fun! We put up the inflatable Santa today and she just hugged on him and showed him our lights and talked away. When asked what she wants Santa to bring her for Christmas, she has been saying Christmas books, but today she told the outdoor Santa and Daddy she wanted "babies." Hmmmm. Hopefully she meant dolls of some sort.

We went and picked out our tree last night and she ran from tree to tree saying "I like this one!" We finally settled on a not-too-big one that works for what we want to do this year and she was quite happy. She told us the tree needed to come home with her, then that it was riding next to her and then that its name was "little girl." My little girl "helped" decorate the tree tonight. It was sweet even though I had to finish up most of it after she went to bed, because her help was pretty high maintenance and involved her needing to play with play dough by the Christmas tree ;)
Her being this age certainly makes the Christmas season that much more enjoyable! She squeals every time she sees our lights, or our tree, or an inflatable snowman or something in someone's yard and it makes me smile like nothing else!
