I am continually blessed by seeing my best friend and sweet husband as a tender and loving dad to my babies. You can't ask for much more than that in life. If life were picture perfect, I would have gotten a great picture of the kids with their Daddy when everyone was looking sharp before church this morning. But the reality is we were running out the door (as always) and the thought didn't cross my mind. So I got this one of my loves in their pjs!
This girl loves her Daddy! She always has, but adding Ben to the family has opened more space for their relationship to grow and deepen (because Mama is not always butting in), and it is sweet. Now when she wakes up in the middle of the night or in the morning she calls for Daddy instead of Mama!
I thought I would share the "All About My Daddy" interview that Mattie's teachers did at school:
What is your favorite thing about Daddy? When I get to go get donuts with Daddy
How old is Daddy? One
What makes Daddy happy? That I wiggle
What is Daddy's favorite thing to do? Splash in the pool with me
What is Daddy good at? He's good at splashing
What does Daddy do for a job? He goes to work and I go to school
How do you know Daddy loves you? We go to Jacob's house and splash in the pool
Why did God make your Daddy? Cause he loves me
What does Daddy do to make you laugh? He jumps
Why did your Daddy marry your mommy? Cause he loves me
(We clearly had a summer theme going on here!)
Of course, we can't go without saying how lucky we are to have both of our Dads involved in our kids lives. Pops and Popi are kings around here. And Ben will meet his great-granddad Papaw next week for the first time. What a treat! I took a little video of Mattie saying Happy Father's Day to Pops, Popi and Papaw, but it just won't upload. We love you!
