How can it be my sweet baby Ben is five months! I know I say it all the time, but wow, this first year is flying by! My sweet Bubs is getting bigger and more charming by the day! When I picked him up at school Monday, his teachers couldn't wait to tell me what a flirt he had been. They said they put him in a bumbo across from a little girl named Payton, and that the two were cooing, smiling, talking and trying to hold hands! Ben, Mama is your girlfriend for at least 15 more years, okay?!?!?
Ben is still my laid back little man. It is amazing how little I actually ever hear him cry. It is usually just if he gets bored and wants to do something different. Just a little, "letting you know" cry. He is chewing on those hands (and sometimes feet) like crazy. And drooling like crazy too. He will roll across a room before I can get to him, and loves to chatter to himself in his crib in the morning before we go get him.
He is sleeping through the night about 50% of the time. For some reason, he is still waking up, wide awake, for a two-hour play session in the middle of the night about half of the nights. We can't figure it out, because he eats the same, naps the same, etc. every day. He is going down about seven pm., then I do a dream feed at ten, and then if he sleep through it is until about 6. Which is fabulous. So he will get there to doing it every night eventually I know! In the meantime, I am helping Starbucks' stock on the days I go to the office. If he looks sleepy in this picture, it is because he was awake from 3-5 last night!

He is wearing a size 2 diaper for day and size 3 at night. He is wearing 3-6 months clothes, but his footed pjs are getting short on him now. He is getting so strong and loves to hang out on his tummy.
Our doctor recommended we go ahead and give him brown rice cereal at five months. We waiting until six with Sissy, but the doctor said he would be ready, and that the iron would be good for him. So I let Sissy do the honors tonight. . . .
First bite!
He really dug it. A ton of it (probably 90% dribbled out) but he was so happy to be eating :)
And someone was happy to be in charge of the feeding!
Ben also enjoyed snacking on his hand.

All done!!!

This is just a little clip I took of Ben babbling the other day. He loves to chat!
