Saturday, Mattie and I had a special "date" to go pick out her stuff for her ballet class that starts next week (leotard, tights, shoes). I think I may be more excited than her, but she does talk about it a lot. We also went to the mall because I needed to pick up a few things and a trip to the "princess" store is always a treat for her. She LOVES pretzels, so we got a pretzel and lemonade, and wound up having a "picnic" on the floor at North Park because the benches were full. I was thinking to myself as I sat on the floor, chowing on pretels, life has SURE changed. Ha!

Last week, I volunteered one night at the summer VBS that our church does in several of the apartment complexes in our neighborhood, and Mattie went with me. (Different day, same dress.) She loved it. She was the youngest kid there, but she sat and listened to the story and played the games and sang the songs. At the end of the night, the leader let kids come up to recite the Bible verse and earn prizes. There were kids there up to junior high age, but Sissy was not scared. She shot her hand up to volunteer and went up and said the verse, with a little help from Miss Deborah. It may have been the highlight of my week. I was so proud, especially when she remembered the last few words without needing prompting!
For the Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost.
(This is actually her kind of participating in the game with the help of one of our volunteers. Check out the shoes!)

This picture is from a few weeks ago and I literally burst out laughing every time I see it. I was getting ready and came out of the bathroom to Mattie playing with all of her dolls on my floor. At second glance, I saw that Prince Eric had stripped off his pants and was checking out Snow White and Tiana. OH MY WORD! If she only knew.

Sissy loves to dress up. This is her in Jacob's fireman costume. And she loves Jacob SO SO SO much! I pray that they can be such good friends for years to come, because Matt and I love hanging out with Jacob's parents!

And for anyone who thinks Matt is not silly, here he is at a going away party for our sweet friends the McGee's who recently left us for Houston. The theme was Adios Amigos. . . . .

Can't think of a better way to sign off!
PS Today is Ben's FIVE month birthday! I really do take his pic, just didn't have any on my phone that hadn't already been posted. I am going to take his picture tonight and do a post about JUST HIM tomorrow :)
