My littlest is love is seven whole months! This sounds so much older to me than six months . . . I guess because we are more than halfway to a year now. How did this happen so quick?!?!?
Ben is doing really well with sitting up on his own, and he is making moves to get up on all fours. He isn't there yet, but he is working on it quite a bit. He can scoot across the room by turning and rolling and wiggling, so if I leave him on the floor somewhere, he will often wind up half under the couch or something.
Mr. Smiles is millimeters away from having his front top teeth. He has been working on them forever, and we can see how close they are to busting through. I bet we will have them by Friday. You can see those bottom teeth really good now, and he knows how to use them! He will chomp down on your shoulder or finger if you aren't careful. We are trying to get him to eat three "meals" a day now . . . usually a fruit mixed with oatmeal for breakfast, a fruit or vegetable for lunch and vegetable with brown rice for dinner. We are still nursing and he still gets a formula bottle before bed.
Speaking of bed . . . we lowered his crib this weekend since he is getting close to being on all fours. I caught him this weekend trying to get ahold of that top front rail, so we just went ahead and lowered it! Ben had been sleeping so so so so terrible (like a newborn), that we starting getting a little "tough" on him. I had never really let him cry at all because I was scared he would wake up Sissy. But we have been teaching him he can't get up six times a night and things are getting much better! He is still waking up too early (5:30 or 6), but we are getting there! (He has been wearing all his baseball outfits because of the Cardinals!!!!)
And boy does brother love his Sissy! These are my sleepy loves on Monday morning (thank you Mr. Columbus)!
Sissy is constantly keeping us in stitches and on our toes these days!
Last week, we were at the park, and Jacob got to "tee tee" in the grass. She was so jealous. So on Saturday, she was playing outside with her Mamaw and decided she would pull her pants right down in the backyard and go tee tee in the grass!
She says funny grown up stuff in this bossy little voice. For instance, last weekend I was really sleepy on Saturday morning and was laying on the couch. And she said "Mama, you need to wake up. Daddy, you need to get Mama some coffee right now so that she can wake up."
She love love loves to read! I think I have mentioned that we let her read in her bed now until she is ready to turn her light off. (For clarification, she can't read, but she has some books memorized.) The other night, she was awake still reading at 10:15 when I went to bed! She is crazy about books. Last night, Matt had a softball game, so I let her pick out ten books to read with me on the couch. We read them all, and then she picked three that she wanted to show me she could read to me. I think I really should start working with her on learning to actually read. Any tips of books or devices that work?
