WOOHOO! Matt and I got 24 hours to ourselves this weekend! WOOHOO!
It had been since last July since we had gotten away together for a night. We left yesterday morning and met Nanny in Pops in Temple to hand off the kids. I was a little sad as we pulled away, but I got over it :) As we were pulling up to meet Nanny and Pops, I said Mattie, I sure will miss you while we are gone. And she said, I sure will miss Nanny and Pops when I have to leave them tomorrow. HA!
We headed back to Waco to catch the Baylor/UT game with some of our friends. Despite getting rained on some, it was a lot of fun!
It had been a long time since we had been out to dinner with our friends and no kids. We talked and laughed and laughed for hours!
Meanwhile, the kids were having a blast with their cousins and Nanny and Pops! They got to go to a fun tree-lighting event with tons of fun still for the kids. Mattie and Lilly even got to throw snowballs at Nanny.

We had a fabulous time. As much as I miss my kids when I am not with them, it is nice just to be adults and talk about grown up stuff and have a little fun once in a while! And sleep in until 8:45. WOWZER!
