After all our Christmas morning fun, Mimi and Popi arrived on Christmas evening. So we hosted out first ever official Christmas dinner! It was supremely fancy, let me tell ya! It really was kind of fancy, comparatively speaking to what we usually have around here. I opted not to do the traditional Christmas dinner, and used the Pioneer Woman for inspiration. We had lasagna, spinach salad, garlic bread and chocolate molten cakes for desert. And I made it all from scratch. The kitchen looked like a tornado hit it, but I was pretty proud :)
We decided to have another "Christmas morning" on Monday morning with Mimi and Popi.
Ben sported his new hat for about five seconds!

Sissy helping Ben open a present from Mamaw and Papaw - he loves this thing!
We had a super fun week with Mimi and Popi being here! Matt and I had a 24 hour get away for our EIGHTH anniversary before he went back to work Wednesday, which was very nice. Time alone is scarce and treasured!
Thursday was a BEEEEautiful day here in Dallas. We went to lunch at a place outside and then spent the afternoon out at the arboretum. . . .
where we had a chance encounter with SNOW WHITE herself. Mattie was absolutely beside herself. She was grinning from ear to ear and talked about Snow White all day. It was such a lucky thing, I really had no idea she was going to be there and we saw her right when we walked in the door.
Mimi and Popi enjoying the fabulous day with sweet Benny Boy!
My little Mister crawling through the grass at top speed!
We took Mimi and Popi to the airport this morning, and are missing them already. Sniff. It doesn't get any easier to be so far away!

That Christmas dinner was FABULOUS! (especially the part where I didn't even darken the kitchen door to help - hee, hee!) We loved our time with you all and are definitely going thru withdrawal. We would also liked to have brought some sunshine back here!!! We returned to a dark a dismal day (boo hoo).
