WOWzer!

It has been an action packed weekend for sure!

Matt headed out bright and early Saturday morning with Shane (who drove up on Friday night with Meg and Sophie) to run his first trail race - a half marathon. He loved it, running through mud and streams, but it sounded pretty terrible to me.
Much more fun was hanging out with two of my favorite girls all morning instead! After breakfast and dress up and a party and lots of other fun inside, it was time for some fun outside.
Mattie had THE BEST time with Sophie. She smiled from ear to ear all morning. Sophie has the sweetest heart and is an amazing big sister - we love her to pieces!
It was so beautiful that I decided it was a good day for the sprinkler :)
 Look at those lilly legs!
Even Benny Boo got in on the action! He was soaked and loving it.
There are two things I love about this picture . . . one is the ridiculous expression on Mattie's face, and two are the channels of snot under Ben's nose!
Saturday evening we continued the fun, hanging out with our friends the Spitzenberger's. . . . enjoyed good company and great good - all outside in the beautiful weather! Mattie totally had so much fun with Anna and Joseph and is still talking about wanting to go back to their house :)

Today was a different kind of Sunday for us. Our church had a "Here to Serve" day . . . no regular morning worship or Sunday school, but about 20 different service projects throughout the community. I went bright and early to work a water stop at a half marathon. It was my first time to volunteer at a water stop and I loved doing it and now I cannot wait to run another race! Matt and Mattie went to a "Spring Party" at a senior living center with the 5th and 6th graders he teaches. Then tonight we all went to church for a celebration service and desert party. Ben was pretty amped to be in big church again! He was charming everyone :)
Mattie was not in the mood to have her picture taken, but Matt said she did a great job helping at the nursing home. I say this a lot, but I am so thankful we have found such a wonderful church home. I was so proud of all the work our service teams accomplished today, from home renovations, to park clean ups, to landscaping an elementary school garden. It was touching to see all of the pictures on the big screen tonight.
I am also especially thankful for the young girls who love on my kids and play with them every time we are at church. It makes them both - especially Mattie - really happy to be there and it is nice for Mama too!

Hope your weekend was great!
