Happy anniversary-thanksgiving!

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what HE has done.
Psalm 105:1

We had our early Thanksgiving celebration at Brookshire (apartment church) last night, and this verse was our theme. Love it! The Thanksgiving celebration marked our one-year anniversary serving at Brookshire. Every year, the Sunday school classes provide the food and the servers for the meal at each of our community ministry sites. Last year when our class was assigned to Brookshire, Mattie and I went . . . and obviously have been going every since!
Avery was there serving with her mama last night, which was a fun treat for Mattie.
These are some of our precious girls!
Sissy ate dinner with Avery and Amajanea Sunday night. Amajanea is one of Mattie's favorite's at apartment church and I love seeing them become friends! This sweet girl has had a hard life, but she is one of the most precious girls I have ever met. She is so kind, gracious and loving. On Sunday, she brought a purse and shared a piece of her candy with Sissy.
The relationship with the kids at Brookshire makes serving there fun. And the weekly reminder (for me and Sissy) that not everyone has life as easy as we do, makes it easy to be thankful for what we DO have. So happy thanksgiving a little early!
