The Big 60!

The family loaded up the car (Lord, what would we do without an SUV?) on Tuesday night and headed to Georgetown so that we could celebrate Pops' big 60th birthday on Wednesday! Mattie was so excited that she woke up at 4:45 am Wednesday morning, fished a necklace out of her suitcase and came to tell me that she wanted to put it on for Pops' birthday party. YES, that really happened. We had the best time celebrating Pops with the family! He looks like he had a pretty good time too. . .
By the way, what do you think of the view in the Vietti's new backyard??? You can barely see the new pool that is going in on the right. It is amazing.
So besides that yard, what more could you want than these two turkeys helping to put the candles on your cake?
Three of the four grandkids helped blow out the candles (Ben had already hit the hay). It was a totally fun celebration!
Sadly, the holiday weekend came to a crash for me after Wednesday night. I woke up Thursday morning sick as a dog. I got to eat a few saltines about 7:30 Thanksgiving night. And poor Nanny went down Thursday afternoon. So yes, I ruined Thanksgiving pretty much! We decided to pack up and come home Friday instead of staying, since poor Nanny was so sick. It was a blast while it lasted though!
