Well, it is official. I'm a soccer mom. HA! Mattie has shown some interest in playing soccer for awhile, but I have not been interested in it, mainly because it requires us to go to a soccer game every Saturday morning. But with her starting kindergarten this year, I thought that joining a soccer team where she doesn't know anyone and trying something new would be good practice. So we signed up and our first practice was Thursday and the first game was today. Mattie was very nervous before practice Thursday, but as soon as she started playing she loved it! She was thrilled after practice, and could barely wait for her game today.
We have had amazing weather here lately, but today it was cold and overcast and windy! Added to the fact that Matt is out of town visiting his Granny, and the game was at one right during Ben's nap time . . . I wasn't exactly looking forward to it. But it was fun and she LOVED it and scored a goal and it all worked out perfect! I was only able to take pictures for about the first five minutes while Ben stayed in the stroller and then I was chasing him around. But I think I got some good action shots. If you click on this one below, you can see the huge grin on her face!

Mattie is lucky number 7! Their team plays on two little fields next to each other, so that the girls pretty much get to play the whole time. Today they each sat out one quarter (8 minutes) and Sissy was begging to go back in and play!
Like I said, Ben stayed in the stroller and watched for all of five minutes, but he really did okay for a game during nap time.
