Weekend trip to see NannyPops (as Ben says)

Matt went up to visit his Granny this weekend, so I decided to take the kids to visit Nanny and Pops in Georgetown! We drove down on Friday afternoon after picking Mattie up from school. As soon as we got in, the kids hit the pool, and we had a lovely, relaxing evening catching up, swimming and eating pizza. Ben did not really feel like staying in his "big boy bed" at Nanny's house, so the first night was a little interesting. Mama is keeping him in that crib until he is 20 (knocking on wood he doesn't crawl out tonight).
Can we talk about this face? Ben loves his chocolate donuts.
Saturday morning I was really wanting to take Ben to see the firetrucks where his Uncle Wayne works because he goes into hysterics whenever he sees a firetruck. So we pulled in and Ben goes crazy saying "I see firetruck!" and then as we get close to it, he starts crying (typical Ben). And he will only go onto the truck in my arms.
He cautiously checked things out with Nanny.
The girls had no problem jumping right in!
After nap time, Ben and Pops had some snacks while they watched football.
Afternoon swimming was followed by a slumber party for Sissy at Lilly's house (she was thrilled of course)! Ben hung out with Nanny and Pops while I met Paige for a grown up dinner, which was more than a treat.
I brought the girls back over Sunday morning, and Nanny had staged an extravagant treasure hunt for them. They loved their loot. Mattie keeps asking me where Nanny could have "dug up all that silver and gold." ;)
We made it home this afternoon and are all ready to face Monday morning. . . . I think?
