As Big Tex would say, Howdy Folks! Mimi and I took Mattie out of school early on Friday to take the kids to the fair. I was a little nervous about breaking the school rules, but we did and it was fun!!!
Mattie and I had done the Summer Adventures several times this summer (which is just the rides part of the fair basically), so she was dying to go to the fair. The animal and "farm" area for kids was great.
Ben really loved it, can you tell?
The petting zoo had all kinds of animals they could pet and feed, including a camel, giraffe and a zebra. My little animal lover girl was in heaven.
Ben found his happy place in the train exhibit, were he even got to hold Percy. This super nice man (who we had met this summer) got trains down for Ben to hold and spend about 20 minutes with him. We told him we would be back to visit this summer.
