I sure do love Mr. Columbus

Thanks, Mr. Columbus for getting me the day off one random Monday every year. You are awesome! Oh, and also for "discovering" America. That was great too I guess.

Sissy and I got to go to Mommy and Me Monday at the Arboretum with a bunch of our friends!
Sissy and Jacob waiting to be rolled in.
This was the best picture of the two of them I could get :)
Mattie is making a crazy face in this picture, but I thought it was funny of her standing on top of the haystack.
The kids had a great time running around and eating their lunches. And there were lots of shrieks of "pumpkins!" heard too.
Last time Mattie went to the Arboretum with Nanny she got her face painted. So of course I offered to take her and another little friend Caroline to go over and get their faces painted this time. Well, when we got over to the line about noon (about the time I was thinking we should be heading for home) a lady at the end of the line said to expect about an hour wait. I thought, that is crazy, no way. Because who wouldn't right? So I took the girls over to the craft table for a few minutes to appease them and then we went back to join the group. But of course as soon as we got back, Mattie started up with "I want a butterfly on my face, Mama." And who can resist that? So I took both girls back (this time with the support of Kristen and Izzy) and we stood in the even longer line so the girls could get butterflies on their faces. And it took over and hour, but they waited.

Look at my big girl sitting so still!
I love how she has her little hands clenched up.
Sissy with her purple butterfly!
Caroline and Mattie checking out their newly painted faces in the mirror.
By the time we got to the car at two, Mattie was pooped and cried most of the way home, smearing most of her butterfly off. Oh well . . . she still was excited to have it in it's smeared form the rest of the day!
