Well, Happy Easter a day late! I was having technical difficulties with the blog last night and couldn't get any pictures up. We had a super nice Easter weekend. . . just the right mix of family time and activities. And we even got a few things done around the house too :)
The Easter festivities kicked off with Sissy's Easter egg hunt at school on Tuesday. This was the first picture I took, and she was kind of sad/pouting because she wanted more eggs. HA!

She perked up a little when she got to start chowing down on chocolate. Sister was not impressed with the jelly beans but the girl loves her some chocolate.

Saturday we had an Easter festival/event at church (organized by my friend Summer - good job girl!). The event started with music by the praise band. Mattie went up and sat on the kids mat with her favorite big girl from church, Hannah (who is the sweetest!). Then some of the big kids came up to the front for a song to demonstrate the hand movements. Sissy went right up there and stood by Hannah in front of the crowd. Sweet Hannah did all the motions with one hand so that Mattie could stay with her. Too cute.
Off to the races, I mean egg hunting. She is really getting it down and held her own in the massive 2-3 year old hunt.
Sissy and Daddy with her collection!

The best thing for Mattie was for sure the petting zoo. On the way to church that morning she just kept saying she wanted to hold a bunny. She got her wish!
Um and she also cuddled up with a narly looking chicken for quite awhile too.

After her experience at the petting zoo, Sissy kind of thought she would get to see/hold the Easter Bunny when he came to our house. So yesterday morning she was a little miffed that the Easter Bunny was not present in our house for her to hold. But she got over it pretty quick when she saw the goodies he had left for her :)
We all made it dressed and in one piece with plenty of time to spare for the 9:30 service. Yay! Mattie's age group did not have class, so she actually went into the service with us for the first time ever. And she did amazingly awesome! She sat right in Daddy's lap quietly the entire time. I did threaten her that if she made any noise she would have to go to the baby class, and I guess it worked. Ben however, was wide awake and a little fussy, so we left after the first hymn and watched and kind of listened from the foyer.

After church we went to eat Mexican food, and came home to experience a THREE HOUR FAMILY NAP which was by far the highlight of my weekend! During nap time, the Easter Bunny had left some more eggs for Mattie to hunt in the backyard, which she really got into. We were wishing we had hid more.

Hunting away . . . I don't think she even asked to open any of these, she was just excited to find them.

And that about does it. . . .hope that everyone had an equally wonderful Easter!
