Mother of 2

I can't believe I am officially a mother of 2! It still sounds so weird to me every time I say something, like "the kids." But I guess it will really sink in eventually because I definitely have two kids now! Check out our new header above! Speaking of my kids . . . . our sweet friends and photographers Jocelyn and Chris came over to meet Ben and take some pictures of "the kids." I just stole these of the two of them from her blog sneak peak, but there will be more to come!
Things are going really well with my two kids. I made it through my first week on my own with no major problems :) It is actually so far easier than I thought it would be. Having a newborn is for sure way easier this time around, and I am just getting better at multi-tasking with both of them. Of course it won't be so easy when Ben doesn't sleep 80% of the time. A few of the nights have been rough. . . . It is super helpful for Mattie to be in school still so I get some good time with just Ben. Because when she is home she demands the attention - surprise, surprise! She has a very good habit of waiting until I am nursing to yell, I need to go potty! Or wait until I am trying to settle Ben down to request that I dance with her. But overall she is the sweetest big sister I know!
I wanted to record a couple of the funny things Mattie has said regarding her baby brother. . . .

The first week or so after we brought him home from the hospital, she would continually ask, What's wrong with him? She expected that he would come out ready to play I believe.

One day she came back into the living room and I had Ben in the swing so she didn't see him. She said, Where is baby brother, is he back in your tummy?

When Popi landed at the airport, he asked Mattie if she had anything new and exciting at home to show him? Yes, she replied, Mama tiger. Which is one of her not new stuffed animals. Ha!
