We rang in the New Year with friends (okay really we only made it until about 10), but it was the first time in a while that we have done anything on NYE. And it was fun! Even Benny Boo stayed up until after 10. I was so appreciative that we got an extra day (Monday) to just be at home and relax before facing up to reality. Sunday and Monday were both nice family days. Matt took Mattie to the Muppets movie with some friends on Monday morning and I went on a walk with Ben, and Stacie and Nicholas. The weather has been lovely! Of course, we had to get all squared away for our big return yesterday. After being home for almost three weeks, it was tough, but we made it!
I was super excited to pick these two up yesterday from school and they were both excited to see me :)
And since I'm working at home today, I got to see them again this morning! This week is actually a pretty easy transition back with only two days in the office. Sometimes it is nice to get back in the routine, even when it is painful. Although Sissy is having a little harder of a time understanding why she can't watch a movie anytime, have three deserts every night, etc. She may have gotten just a little spoiled over vacation! We did play a few rounds of Candy Land before bed last night though!
I am so so so so blessed to have a flexible job that allows me to work and feel like I get good time with my sweet kids. I am so thankful for the fun Christmas vacation, and now . . . back to it!
