Operation Overboard!

Sister got to do VBS this year, theme Operation Overboard. We have been singing the song all week - Oh Oh Oh Let's Go, Operation Overboard, Dive Deep into God's Majesty!
Wednesday was crazy hair day, so Sissy loaded up with a crazy headband, bows, clips, etc.

I am so grateful to all of our friends at church who dedicate so much time to teaching and running VBS. I was really impressed with the number of teenage girls that spent the whole week up at church assisting. I can only hope Mattie will be so inclined when she is in high school and college!
Also, thank you to Summer and Ada-Grace who hosted Mattie at their house in the afternoons for me!  Mattie and Ada-Grace in some of the funny octopus hats that the leaders wore :)

Thursday night we had a fun visit from Kristin and the girls! The slumber party with the girls did not go quite as smoothly as expected, but they still had a really fun time together.

We had also planned to hit the pool Friday morning, but it was pouring down rain. We still managed to have a little fun at an indoor play area! One lesson I have got to learn is to not have expectations, especially when it comes to things that involve my kids. I always plan in my head exactly how things will go, and that is just absurd. Really, planning that anything will be smooth sailing and according to plan with a 3 year-old, 2 year-old, 1 year-old and a newborn is just asking for it!

Of course by afternoon, the weather was perfect! So I met some friends up at the pool to enjoy the rest of the day . . . .and get some energy out. Both kids were in bed by 7:15, and honestly Matt and I were in bed by 9:30. It was pretty fabulous. Don't be jealous of our super exciting life!!!!!!
