Have you ever seen such a sweet, excited face???

Mattie got to spend the WHOLE day with Ryse yesterday, in celebration of Ryse's birthday. Her Mama caught this picture of them walking out of a store together. Priceless! The excited smile and the clutched hands . . . so sweet!

Sissy got to go to Ryse's house in the morning in her pj's and literally start the day with her. They got dressed together in Ryse's clothes . . .check out the tights and sandals! The girls went to pick out balloons for the party, go to lunch, get their nails painted . . .

the girls picked out purple nails and blue toes - with flowers of course. The day ended with Ryse's party at the pool. Mattie was SO tired she slept in until 8 today. As you know this is an amazing thing for us :) 

I remember when Mattie was an infant, watching the "older girls" at their school running in excitedly in the mornings to bear hug their friends, walking together down the hall holding hands, and yelling BYE at the end of the day like they might never see each other again. I distinctly remember feeling excitement about seeing my sweet little baby girl having those moments as she got older. Now that the time is here, I can't believe she is old enough for it. Mattie and Ryse have been in class together since they were infants and we are so lucky that they have each other to spend their days with! Ryse is pretty much Sissy's first friend she made on her own (not just one of our friend's kids) and she picked well! Sweet girls!!!
