Disney World, here we come!

SO. As I mentioned, I (along with Mimi and Nanny) have been planning a surprise trip for Mattie to Disney for months. It was unbelievable exciting for me to plan and so hard to keep the surprise, but we woke her up at 5:30 am last Wednesday to tell her she was going to Disney World! I had Matt video because I was expecting a huge reaction, but I think she was too stunned and sleepy to really react. She was almost shaking with excitement and had a huge smile, but the actual video moment was a little underwhelming. It didn't take long before she was hyped up and ready to go! I think she asked me at least thirty times when the plane was going to take off.
But it finally did! And when we got to the Orlando airport, Mimi was there :)  Mattie said, What are you doing here? When Mimi said, I'm going to Disney World, Mattie replied, Are you REALLY? It was too much for her to process I think! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, a Magic Kingdom Resort, which was fabulous. The lodge was fun and was super convenient to getting back and forth to the park. We all went for a swim and then sister crashed for a hard nap.
I had packed little surprises for her, from different princesses, Mickey and Minnie, so I left the first one from Cinderella while she was napping. This was a tip from a friend, and I think it hugely cut down on the need to buy things at the park.
But she had an even bigger surprise when it was Nanny who woke her up from her nap! We all got dressed and headed out on the boat for our first event - dinner with the cast of Cinderella. Taking the five minute boat ride over to the park or to the other resorts was kind of an event in itself and was a totally fun way to get around from place to place.
Every inch of Disney is beautiful and clean. Sissy knew there was a surprise at dinner and was not excited to wait for our buzzer to go off!
She could see Cinderella as soon as we walked in, and was just dying for her to get to our table!
Seeing this look on Mattie's face (multiple times daily) made the trip for me. She was so in awe and so thrilled to meet these princesses.
Um, sister was also pretty excited to meet Prince Charming. After he walked off, she yelled - SEE YOU TOMORROW! It was hilarious.
Cinderella's stepmother was one of our favorite characters for sure. She was incredible! She told Mattie, no playing with forks at the table, which Mattie thought was the funniest thing she had ever heard. She told everyone about it.
Both of the stepsisters were there too of course. Sissy was a little shy with them, but they were great.
After dinner, we went back to the resort to catch a few Zzzzzs before our first visit to the Magic Kingdom. I don't think I slept a wink I was so excited ;)
