Out and About

We spent most of Daddy's birthday weekend enjoying the weather! After a few weeks of mostly really cold or really rainy weather, it was wonderful to be back outside with the kids.
As Ben is getting closer to two, we are experiencing increasing levels of tantrums in our house. They usually involve him standing (or rolling around) outside the fridge or pantry because he is DEVASTATED about not getting some more blueberries or applesauce or something. And I have to say that I am pretty lenient about snacks, but I can't really allow him to eat a whole pint of blueberries in one sitting. So it is very helpful for my sanity when I can have him outside and distracted. Ben still loves to go on walks more than anything!
We took a departure from the norm and went to the Arboretum for a picnic after church yesterday. It was a perfect day for it, and it wasn't crowded at all. We finished off the weekend with grilling burgers and eating dinner outside too. Any meal that can be eaten outside is a winner in my book :)
I'm home today with the kids for MLK Day, and we have some visitors lined up. Should be a great Monday!!!
