My sweet little Benny Boo got tubes put in on Friday morning. Nanny was our lifesaver and came up to keep Mattie (and take her to Wee Wildcats) so Matt and I could both take Ben to his surgery. We had to be there at 7 am, and the trickiest part was that he couldn't eat or drink that morning. Ben did a pretty good job though of playing and multi-tasking while we waited.

Once we got called back though, he immediately started squirming, fussing and throwing things. He knew something was amiss. But luckily they gave him something like "kids valium" and boy did it work miracles! This is Ben post-valium and he was just so chilled out in my lap. I asked the nurse if we could get some to take home, and she said everyone asks that!

Mama was pretty teary eyed when they wheeled Ben away for surgery, but he was so mellow he didn't even notice. We went to a private waiting room for approximately ten minutes and the doctor was back telling us he had done great. Ben was a little grumpy for a few hours, but was right back to his normal self by noon :)
Saturday was rainy and cold, and Daddy had to work. SO Nanny and I met some friends at Chuck E Cheese. We hadn't been there in forever! Mattie was crazy over the games and played them one after another. Ben could've cared less and wouldn't ride the rides at all. But he had fun anyways.

We were so thankful to have Nanny spend the whole weekend with us, and Matt and I ever squeezed in a quick date night on Saturday. I have to say the highlight of my weekend was probably when I discovered that BlueBell now makes Mint Cookies and Cream. My two favorite ice creams in one. It was AH MAZING! It is the little things . . . .
