Is it too early to hope for a soccer scholarship?

Mattie had two big achievements today that we were so proud of! Bright and early this morning, she ran her very first race with Mama! Ever since I ran the Dallas 1/2 in December, Mattie has been saying she wanted to run a race with me. So we did some practice "training" runs, and signed up for a one mile fun run in our neighborhood!
Sissy was a little overwhelmed with the crowds . . .she ran the first few minutes holding my hand, and she did not like the crowds cheering. But she ran a good part of the mile and says she wants to do another one, so I guess that is a good sign! It really helped that there was a big party afterwards with bounce houses, donuts, snow cones and all kinds of sugary goodness.
Now, I know this is about to be picture overload, but today was probably Sissy's last soccer game of the season unless a couple of the rain cancellations get rescheduled. And Mattie DOMINATED the soccer field today. She was in her element.
Tongue-out Goal!
 Smiling Goal!

Runaway Goal!
I almost got a little embarrassed by how much she was scoring today. One of the other moms said, I think you may have a successful career soccer player on your hands :)
I really don't mean to be braggy at all, but it was so fun to see her loving it!
Mattie has gotten really shy and timid lately about a lot of things, but she is not shy when it comes to soccer. Look at that FIERCE FACE.
GO LYONS!
