Happy 4th of July!!!
This was our second year to join friends for the annual Lake Highlands 4th of July parade! The parade is all people from the neighborhood . . . it is pretty short, but there is a lot of candy involved :) It was SO hot today! But we had a great time and were so thankful to be able to go swimming right afterwards. Ben took his first dip in a real pool and he loved it.
This was the best attempt to get all of the kids in one picture. HAHA! Look how well Mattie is cooperating. (Notice me wearing Ben in the background. I was soaking wet when we got back to the house.)
Sissy got a new sandbox from her Mamaw and Papaw as an early birthday present and has been playing in it all weekend. She announced Saturday that she needed a flag for her sand castle, just like George, as in Curious George of course.
Sunday we had a really fun 4th event at church, where we had a BBQ lunch and a brass band that played. And Mimi got to go with us of course. Yay!

Ben napped through a lot of the festivities, but enjoyed some of the music.
