We had a perfectly wonderful Christmas Day! This year was by far the most that Mattie has been into Christmas and Santa and it was SO fun! She actually slept until 7:30 - I was waking up like every 30 minutes thinking she would for sure be up any minute. Once she woke up she came and got in bed with me (we are all in the same room) and snuggled for a minute before she remembered and said, Did Santa come? So we let her go around and "wake everyone up" and say Merry Christmas and then we all went downstairs to see if Santa really did come.
She had a BIG time going through all her stocking stuff and other goodies that Santa left her. Sissy is definitely her Mama's daughter - the girl has discovered a true love for chocolate and candy! She is actually getting a dollhouse from Santa, but we didn't bring it all the way to Michigan, just the dollhouse people and she got the kitchen and the minivan too. I can't begin to count how many times the "family" has been put in and out of the van in the last two days.
One of the biggest hits of the week has been the tent that Mimi fashioned under her grand piano. I think Mattie spent at least a total of 2 1/2 hours under there yesterday. After all the presents were opened, she camped out with her Daddy and her lollipop and just chatted away for at least an hour. Listening in on them was maybe the highlight of my day!
Sissy got Beauty and the Beast, her first Disney princess movie, and she was very excited to watch it last night and only asked Aunt Sherry at least 350 questions during the movie ;)
