You know when you go to a not so hot buffet and they may have prime rib next to enchiladas next to fried rice? That is kind of like my blog today. Sound appetizing?
Mimi and Popi were in last week/weekend for a quick visit. I did an appalling job of taking pictures, but my mom did some photo documentation for me :) We had a great, low key visit.
Popi with Ben in his Michigan wear. . . .Can you believe how much this boy is chunking up?

Everyone who know us AT ALL, knows that we have always had terrible issues with getting Mattie to nap willingly. And we have also had routine issues getting her to go to bed without calling us a million times for a million different things. So we finally bit the bullet and put locks on her doors (she has two because of her connected bathroom). We had a few rough nights/bedtimes, but she is almost 100% better at bedtime now. She is allowed to read in her bed after we tuck her in and just turn her light off when she is ready, and she loves it! She has tested - and knows - that we will not keep coming back in her room multiple times anymore. So that is a very nice change for us! (Sometimes she would be calling out for different things over like an hour and a half period.) I probably just jinxed us and she will be hollering all night tonight. Haha! At nap, she is allowed to have quiet time and play or read, or take a nap, as long as she stays in her room quietly. She still really needs a nap though, and usually winds up putting herself to bed. And she has also taken a liking to napping on the bathroom floor. Gross! But we have to keep her door to the bathroom open so that she can go potty on her own. Oh well I guess!
Mimi took this shot of my little loves hanging out.
This cracks me up!
We headed down to Nanny and Pops' house for Labor Day weekend. Mattie LOVES going to Nanny and Pops' house! And she really really really loves to play with her Cousin Lilly! They are hysterical together and play really well together for the most part. They hug and hold hands and play games and chase each other around for hours. I just got this one pic of them eating lunch together on Sunday.
Garrett and Ben just kind of check each other out for now, but in about a year, I'm sure they will be big buddies!
Ben went in a swing for the first time :)

And Sissy really enjoyed pushing him of course.
On the way home Monday, we were lucky and got to hang out with a bunch of our peeps for a Labor Day party! I miss my girls that don't live in Dallas so much, and I am always so thankful for any time I get to spend with them and chances to see their kids! I was too busy talking to take pics though.
Sissy had a fun time at the party and SNOOZED the whole way home!

Now I'm in the mood for some fake frozen ice cream :)
