Wedding Weekend Trip

We took a super quick trip to Oklahoma this weekend to celebrate Matt's cousin Ashleigh's wedding! Up on Saturday and back on Sunday meant a lot of time in the car in two days, but it was worth it to get to celebrate with family and introduce Ben to both of Matt's sweet grandmothers and extended family for the first time!

Saturday morning - Sissy was excited to go! In fact, when she heard we were staying in a hotel, she wanted to leave on Friday to go to the hotel. (Be sure to remember how she looked pulling out to leave for our trip . . .)

We got to visit with some family when we got in town on Saturday afternoon, and then we were off to the wedding Saturday evening. A huge thanks to Matt's Aunt Sherry who lined up a babysitter for Ben! And Sissy got to attend her first wedding! She was super super excited! I wish I would have gotten a better picture of just her . . .she looked so beautiful and grown up, but we were of course rushing to get there. The evening was perfect for an outdoor ceremony - nice and breezy. And luckily the reception was inside because it stormed like crazy about two hours after this pic.

Sissy sat in her Pop's lap during the ceremony, which was thankfully pretty short. She did good!

It would be hard to describe how DELIGHTED Mattie was when she saw the princesses at the wedding (the bride and the bridesmaids of course). She was obsessed the entire night with them. Luckily, Matt's sweet cousin Rebecca was one of the princesses/bridesmaids, and she was so sweet to Mattie. Danced with her a ton, and let Mattie follow her around.

And Ashleigh was super sweet, dancing with Sissy quite a bit too. She was a dancing fool! Mattie just hugged on both of them, and has been talking all day about how much she loves both of these girls.

Mattie with her Nanny towards the end of the night. Sadly, I didn't get her picture with Pops! Sissy did really well at the wedding - although she got a little keyed up as the night went on, she stayed up past eleven. She totally passed out on the way to the hotel.

Speaking of hotel, the next time I mention to anyone that I might stay in a hotel room with both of my children until they are both over the age of five, just stop me. Thanks in advance.

Sunday, we got a special treat and got to go and see Matt's Granny and introduce her to Ben. Granny has a very special place in Matt's heart :)

And this is what Sister looked like most of the way home. HAHA! The girl was worn out. Always a sign of a good weekend ;)
