Mattie Apple Seed

You may recall (if you are my mom or something) that we went downtown to see Santa last Friday. Well . . . previously that morning, Mattie pulled two seeds out of her apple and insisted that we plant them to "grow some apples" in our backyard. I promised her we could do it when we got home from Santa. So please don't think that the fact that it was pouring down rain would deter Mattie from planting those seeds as soon as we got home. I told her if she wanted to put on a coat and her rain boats, she was welcome to go out in the rain by herself.
Well, the seed planting soon turned tragic as she dropped her seeds in the soil and could not find them. Can you see her face in this picture? I do hope so, because it is priceless.
After I laughed and took a picture, I went and cut open a new apple to get the poor girl a new seed. So I'll keep you posted on whether or not we grow an apple tree by the driveway!
