After we all came home for naps on Friday, the kids and I headed to the White Rock marathon expo to pick up my runner's packet . . . I ran the 1/2 marathon today . . . my first race since before getting pregnant with Mattie! Mattie was very excited to push Ben in the stroller, and she talked about races and if I was going to win (haha), all weekend.

Then we headed over to meet some friends for dinner and take a horse-drawn wagon ride through Highland Park to look at Christmas lights. Mattie and I did this last year for the first time and I loved it! The girls enjoyed the hot chocolate and the lights!
Ben was WILDLY excited about the ride.
Can you tell? He looks like he is having fun here, but I mostly had to bear hug restrain him the entire time to keep him from jumping out of the moving wagon. So it wasn't quite as fun for me this year. To be fair, the ride started an hour after Ben's bedtime, so he was quite wound up!
We had a pretty low-key Saturday, and then this morning I ran the half marathon with a friend from church. It was hot hot hot, seventy degrees at the start, but it felt good to get out and run a race! I was so glad I was running 13.1 and not 26.2 today! Mattie enjoyed my medal when I got home :)
